Having been an airbrush artist for over 25 years, Prescott, AZ artist Dawne Holmes has specialized in Harley-Davidson art & graphics since 1990, establishing a reputation as a renowned custom motorcycle graphic artist and custom painter. Dawne is presently limiting the number of custom bikes taken on in order to pursue and devote more time to airbrushed original paintings, fabricated/welded metal sculpture and sandblasted/carved/airbrushed glass... The first two paintings in a continuing series depicting motorcycle riders, "Kickin' Back On Route 66" and "Highway Handshake" as featured on the popular Speedvision Channel's show "American Thunder" are just recently available as hand-signed and numbered limited-edition lithographs and giclees... Having briefly attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Dawne is a self-taught airbrush artist whose career of 27 years has encompassed many canvases including vans, boats, planes, furniture, fabrics & commercial art and illustration, with the last 12 years almost exclusively devoted to painting show quality custom motorcycles. In association with several of the top bike builders in the country, her airbrush and graphics have appeared in over 100 issues of national and international magazines, books and other publications and won several Best of Shows including World Of Wheels nationwide, Rat's Hole Shows in Daytona Beach, Fl and Sturgis, SD, Easyriders' Invitational Shows in Columbus, OH and the California Mikuni Calendar, Del Mar Concourse and Oakland Roadster Shows to name a few. In 1999 she was honored to receive VQ Magazine's Best Painter of the Year Award as well as having her work appear on David Edwards' 1940 Indian Scout in the acclaimed "Art Of the Motorcycle" Exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of Art in New York City, where it subsequently traveled to the Chicago Field Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum of Art in Bilbao, Spain and currently showing in the Guggenheim exhibition at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. While continuing her art education Dawne became intrigued with three-dimensional art utilizing several techniques in welding and metal fabrication incorporating a variety of different metals and patinas, an art form she is currently devoting more time in pursuing and developing. In addition to her metal sculpture and sandblasted/airbrushed glass she has also completed her first two original airbrushed fine art paintings in acrylic lacquer on acrylic, quite unique as a medium for fine artists. Featured as an artist on the Speedvision Channel's show "American Thunder", she has expanded her range of Artistic pursuits to include signed and numbered limited edition prints and giclees of this first series of paintings portraying the culture of motorcycle riders so popular today...
